Mischief
We had our season shoot last Sunday, and we stayed to true LatteMama tradition and chose a Astrid Lindgren character as our theme. This time MetropolitanMum gave us the idea of telling the story of Lotta, and we went with it. Lotta is the naughtiest of the naughty, imagine cut off clothes, walking dirty shoes in the house, and everyones favourite...drawings on the wall. We had such a great time, and I think our models enjoyed doing everything they wouldn't normally be alllowed to do at home. Check our our rebels trashing the LatteMama home wearing Mini Rodini, Modeerska Huset, Indikidual, Mina Shoes and Bonnie Baby. Check out some behind the scenes snaps we got

We are pleased to welcome Kari Nyack of Style My Baby London. After a fulfilling career in fashion and interior design, Kari started her career as a showroom assistant for a high-end
wholesale fashion company in North London, She then began personal interior and fashion styling.
After styling client’s children as a sideline,
this brought her to her true calling.…Style My Baby London was born!
Name: Kari Nyack
Location: London
Twitter: @Stylemybabylndn
Website/Blog: www.stylemybabylondon.co.uk
Please tell us a bit about your services as a stylist?
My personal services are aimed at busy style conscious parents.
"Turning children into mini fashionistas, bringing the perfect wardrobe to your door"
When the guilt ridden parent has been working all hours of the day all week, the last thing they want is to drag the kids to the stores to buy clothes at the weekends! Manic! A personal shopper and stylist is a blessing, someone who brings everything their child needs to their door, custom to their lifestyle, no stress, hassle free! Allowing weekends to be about family fun! I offer seasonal wardrobe, holiday wardrobe, and special occasion-wear styling as well as Interior design. I also do commercial projects, working with retailers and brands styling seasonal campaigns and Look-books etc.
How did you find your path to children styling?
I started working in fashion as a showroom assistant for a high end wholesale and distribution company, I then went on to designing Interiors for market properties. It was here I built up a client base and started personal styling clients workwear wardrobes. One day I was asked by a client to style their kids and that was it, I was hooked!
Which one is more fun? Fashion for you or for the kids?
Without a doubt, kids! I spend more on my kids than I do on myself!
How do you like to dress your son, is he giving his own input yet?
He wears whatever, he is not really fussed. Although he does kick off sometimes about a particular pair of loafers because they leave marks on his feet! I dress him in all different kinds of looks, depends on my mood and what he is doing, if he is at nursery then I put less effort in as (I am sure that every mother experiences) he comes home an absolute wreck!
My daughter however is not even 2 yet and she insists on wearing her wellies with everything! (at home nothing but!) I just go with it though, I think it's quite funny and adorable that she is expressing herself so young!
As a mother to a boy, what advice do you have for mothers who struggle finding stylish clothes for their sons?
It is true, there is a heck of a lot more available for girls! But there are some great finds out there for boys in the high street and designer wear, also there are some fab unisex brands. The childrenswear industry is growing so I don't think it will be too much of a problem for much longer!
What are your favorite finds in the baby fashion world?
Again there are lots of great unisex brands that concentrate on comfort as well as style, such as Indikidual and Beau Loves. On the high street Baby Gap and Zara Baby are always a winner. Designer brands, I love
Chloe and Paul Smith.
Do you think runway fashion inspires children's fashion at all, or is it the other way around?
Yeah absolutely, obviously the styles are designed to cater for children, but colours and fabrics etc all follow a similar trend.
What is your favourite SS2012 trend?
Colour blocking because it works so well with children! Also florals, neons and metallics are a favourite, but they will be back next Spring/Summer, hopefully it's a better one!
What do you predict will be the most popular one for AW 2012?
AW fashion is probably my favourite! Of course I do prefer the sunny weather but I just love winter fashion, I love furs, boots, scarfs, hats, gloves and in this country it's one trend that is here to stay! I think kids look so adorable all wrapped up for the cold weather, big coats, woolly hats and rosy cheeks!
What's your top wish list items from www.latte-mama.com?
I love the No Added Sugar Trapeze Jump-Suit, that's in a Liberty print too right? I also love the No Added Sugar Ovation dress.

Retro rocker fashion has been all over our magazines for years, the Mods and Rockers era is beloved to many and it can been seen in the latest summer 2012 denim trends and laid back leather jackets.
We <3 the vintage rock princess vibe of this silver dress and zebra print leggings. The dress from No Added Sugar is versatile and will take any young lady from play time to party time in style and comfort.
With the weather also having taken a turn for the worse a splash of zebra print makes this outfit stand out with a multi-seasonal twist.

Monday Mama: MrsChicFantastique
Monday Mama
Kids, Fashion and Blogging with some of the Nets most famous Latte Mama's
Monday Mama is back with an all new crowd of wonderful Mum's from across Britain and Europe, giving us an exclusive look into the latest in kids fashion and blogging straight from those that matter.
This week we have the pleasure of MrsChic Fantastique, event designer, freelance fashion and lifestyle journalist and blogger with a passion for social media.
Name – Mrs ChicFantastique AKA Michaela Deasy-Smith
Location – London and the South of France
Website – in the design stage
| Michaela and her lovely daughter |
There's so much passion for fashion on your blog, and it really shows through, when and how did this passion start?
I studied journalism, art history and business at
university, taking an internship with ABC radio in Australia. But every week I
was writing to Vogue, Cosmo, and every teen fashion mag I could. While I was
doing that a friend asked me to help organise a new salon store opening for
Toni & Guy. It went really well, for a first time event organiser. I loved
the buzz, and so steered my career into events, and boy, I’ve had fun. From
Royalty, to celebs, the rich and the not so famous, I’ve had an absolute
ball, and it’s been a lot of hard work. Ask Mr ChicFantastique who’s had to
ring me at 4am to find out when I would be coming home, and that’s been in the
weeks leading up to an event.
At 7 months
pregnant I was asked to travel to the Emirates to start work on another event
project, and it was so huge, and such a fabulous opportunity, and I knew that I
wouldn’t be able to keep up the work commitment, so I bowed out, and that’s
when the blogging really took off. I am truly passionate about breathing life
in the UK high street, giving a voice to independent fashion designers,
retailers and creatives. If someone had told me 15 years ago that I could be
using the internet to create a voice and easily get my work published, I could
have been a millionaire over and over by now.
How has your style changed since becoming a mother?
I definitely put more effort into making
sure everything I wear is flattering to my shape (and I sometimes take a photo
of what I look like before I go out – isn’t that just super vain?). I tend to
put my jewellery on after I leave Chic Mini otherwise she will pull at it. I’m
also more obsessed than ever about anti-ageing products. I do so much research
into food, creams, and of course Botox, which Mr CF will not allow. If you
would like to know more about my anti-ageing crusade, tune into Twitter on the 7th
of June for my Twitter party exploring the world of natural vs surgery.
Tell us more about your blog and how it complements your profession.
My blog has to be newsworthy, interesting,
inspirational and as independent as possible with a luxury edge. I suppose I am
a ‘blogger’, but I make sure that my journalism skills shine through with
accuracy, spelling and grammar, and attention to detail. People seem to like
what I do and actual paid writing and events work is slowly coming through via
ChicFantastique.
You're from Australia, live in London and visit France often, what can you tell us about how fashion varies in the different countries?
THE biggest fashion difference is
that UGGS are Australian and something we all had as kids - they were our
slippers. So different looking to what they are now. But in Australia we would
never have worn them out – they are for the house only. In the UK I have been
at a cocktail party and girls have arrived wearing a fabulous dress and
UGGS – oh my god!!! NO.
You will not find anyone in France, no matter how cold it is
wearing UGGS unless it’s a tourist. French women wear the most flattering
leather mid-calf and knee high boots, and I love the look.
The UK is a hot-pot of independent fashion talent who design
clothes, shoes and handbags, and I get goose-pimples each time I discover a new
one.
I spend a lot of time in the South of France where fashion
is all about luxury labels.
Australia does the best swimwear and underwear. My annual
parcel is due to arrive from mum any day now.
How would you describe your little girl’s style?
Chic Mini is Mariella. She has a
fabulous head of dark hair, and massive bright, blue eyes, and eyelashes we would
pay for. And she wears colour so well.
I’ve never had her in a lot of pink – she looks stunning in red, blue, deep
purple. I’ve even had her in black. Mariella always has a trademark clip in her
hair and wears hats beautifully. French baby and children’s clothing is always
so full of colour, hardly any pink in sight, and I love it.
What are your favorite finds in the baby fashion world?
We adore Sooki an Australian
brand. The pieces have super cute designs such as Babushka Dolls; very
functional with buttons and clips in all the right places, and they wash up
well time and time again. We also have a stack of Bonds singlets…a bedtime
must.
No Added Sugar is another gorgeous brand that design
eye-catching pieces with zip and button detail and cute fabrics. I have my eye
on the Trapeze Jump Suite on the Latte-Mama website, but waiting for a smaller Chic
Mini size.
I don’t mind what brand we buy, but I have to have fab body
suits for every day – long sleeve, short sleeve, sleeveless for the hot days.
Do you think runway fashion inspires children's fashion at all, or is it the other way around?
What is your favourite trend for SS 2012?
I also love the oversized clutch. I’ve invested in the
Orange Lizard Oversized Clutch by New York designer Riki Rosetta available
through BagServant.co.uk
What do you predict
will be the most popular one for AW 2012?
Also, big bags. I’ve just discovered Jane Goodchild, handbag
designer, and her lust-have big totes. You can try-on and buy at POP The
Fashion Store in Olney.
Mmmm, big bag love.

Ephraim & Pippi: Mina Shoes
Ephraim&Pippi
The style guru duo for stylish parents and their tots
Spring is slowly creeping in on us and our sheepskin boots and leather brogues are getting kicked to the back of our wardrobes in favour of spring/summer '12 most sought after summer flats.
Nothing says comfort and spring like floral ballerina flats. Mina Shoes have out done them selves with these garden party inspired flats in the candy colours so popular this season.

Lets not forget our wonderful Mommies and Daddies. Versatile comfort is what you need when running around a playground or walking through the park and we have found just the shoes to do it in.
Boat shoes are a classic style and this great pair by Ralph Lauren is brought bang up to date with the summery plaid print. In line with the 90s revival Dr Martens have made a reappearance and they are better than ever. These practical and feminine pair of cut out brogues are definitely made for walking.

Monday Mama: MrsAgathaMarple
Monday Mama
Kids, Fashion and Blogging with some of the Nets most famous Latte Mama's
Monday Mama is back with an all new crowd of wonderful Mum's from across Britain and Europe, giving us an exclusive look into the latest in kids fashion and blogging straight from those that matter.
This week we have the pleasure of MrsAgathaMarple,
a mother, wife and experienced blogger from Finland.
She gave birth to her adorable son in spring 2008, which is when it all started. She went on to start her very own blog shortly after in October 2008 and she loves blogging still.
Name: Sari
Blog: MrsAgathaMarple
We have to ask Mrs
Agatha, where did the name for your blog come from?
Well, I'm a huge fan of Agatha Christie, love her detective
stories and my favourite is Jane Marple. So when I thought about a name for my
blog that would stand out, MrsAgatha was the coolest name I could think of and
the address also has Marple in it =)
You have been
blogging for years now, have you noticed any changes in the children’s fashion
blogging world?
Yes, there are more sponsored blogs, brands and businesses
have realized how easy it is to advertise via blogs.
What's it like
blogging in two languages at the same time, and do you ever feel like skipping
one?
I feel like skipping all the time! :D It's quite hard to
write in 2 languages but I can't skip Finnish since most of my readers are from
Finland. And I can't skip English as I've noticed an increasing amount of
readers outside Finland =)
How has your sons
style changed since becoming older, do you even get to decide his outfit anymore?
When he was a baby I bought him very colourful retro-style
clothes (brands like Ej Sikke Lej and Småfolk were my favourites then). But
nowadays he dresses more like me, black and grey being the most used colours
with some more colourful things too. I'm a lucky mama and he lets me to choose
his clothes still! :D
He really doesn't care about what he wears, he's happy if
the clothes are comfortable.
Scandinavian fashion
has become very popular lately. Are there any must have Finnish brands out
there, and how would you define Finnish fashion?
I recommend checking out brands MinuMinu and Aarrekid, those
are the best Finnish brands for kids. Also Nosh Organics is cool.
Almost all Finnish brands use organic/recycled materials for
the clothes and the designs are quite simple but feature a few unique twists.
Most of the children's brands in Finland are retro-inspired since that kind of
style is a big hit at the moment in Finland.
What has been your
best fashion find in the past?
For myself: Swedish Hasbeens-shoes and for the boy:
Vans-shoes (can you tell that I love shoes ;D)
What is your
favourite trend for S/S 2012?
I love the colourful jeans!
What do you predict
will be the most popular one for AW 2012?
I'd say sequins and warm jumpers.

Princesse Estelle Silvia Ewa Mary
We're excited for the Crown Princess and Prince Daniel who only yesterday became parents to a little princess. This excites us because we love the royal family, there's a brand new baby involved and our mind instantly goes to fashion statements. How will the little princess dress?
the statement piece, Estelle is a statement name and we predict this baby wanting the world to know that she's wild at heart...
while wearing this lovely handmade dress by Rafsen. So unique and dreamlike.
Her mother has been known to be both classic, and at times dull (we're just repeating what we've heard others say). However, with the bold statement of naming her daughter Estelle, we've changed our minds a little bit about the style. Maybe, it won't al be frills, and tutu, and cashmere and silk, perhaps little Estelle is getting a hooded jumper from modern Mini Rodini and skull leggings from Slugs and Snails?
This is what LatteMama, the halfway haven between classic and unique, imagines baby Estelle look to be like.

What the LatteBaby wears to party...
We were invited to a brilliant 2 year olds birthday party today. That's why LB pulled out his latest outfit - a crisp shirt with fabulous bunny wunny jeans both from No Added Sugar and now available at LatteMama. We'd show you a picture of the party boy, but he parties so hard we never had a chance to take a pic before he fell asleep!

The world lies at your feet...
Ever wondered why more shoes don't have cute kittens on them? Or why watermelon never was an option as a colour scheme for your pumps? We have, but finally someone has read our minds and made it happen. LatteMama loves it when there are so many fantastic, creative and colourful ideas roaming around, but even more when they come true. MinaShoes is the new Swedish brand created by the wonderful Linda Gullberg. The shoes are for young fashionistas and they express fun, confidence and childhood.
Just like LatteMama Mina is all about "expressing children's creativity and humour". The good news are the wonderful shoes will be available this february at LatteMama. We can't wait for the shoes to arrive, for now the only thing we can do is look at these fabulous pictures. What do you guys think about them?
